Our Guiding Philosophy
Effective psychiatric care begins with a full understanding of each patient’s history and current challenges. Time is taken to explore the details, share clear findings, and develop a treatment plan tailored to individual goals. As care progresses, the plan is refined based on results and feedback, always aiming to maximize benefit while minimizing potential adverse effects.

Comprehensive Medical Evaluation
com-med-evalTo ensure an accurate diagnosis, it’s important to rule out medical conditions that may cause or contribute to changes in mood, thinking, or concentration. Conditions such as thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, sleep disorders (including narcolepsy), vitamin deficiencies, substance use, or a history of head trauma can all present with psychiatric symptoms like anxiety, depression, or difficulty focusing. When appropriate, blood tests or other assessments may be recommended.

Medication Expertise
med-exp When it comes to medication, “less is more” whenever possible. Dr. Storch works collaboratively to develop a focused, individualized regimen and is committed to reducing polypharmacy in patients who may be over-medicated. Genetic testing may help guide medication choices (see below).

Adult ADHD
adult-adhd Adult ADHD (sometimes referred to as ADD) is one of the more misunderstood and frequently overlooked conditions affecting high-functioning adults. Difficulties with focus and concentration can disrupt not only academic and professional performance but also personal relationships, where presence of mind supports connection and stability. Medication is often highly effective in treating ADHD. Consultation includes discussion of stimulant and non-stimulant options, off-label treatments, and behavioral strategies tailored to individual needs.

Depression & Anxiety Disorders
dep-anx-disCommon and treatable, depression and anxiety can disrupt sleep, focus, and physical health. With accurate diagnosis, thoughtful treatment, and regular follow-up, meaningful improvement is possible. A range of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options can be tailored to your needs.

Treatment Team Approach
treat-team-appGood medicine doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Quality care depends on thoughtful communication among providers to fully understand each patient. Collaboration with therapists, psychologists, internists, and other specialists is a regular part of this practice. Consultation with your care team or referral to trusted colleagues is provided when appropriate.

Genetic Testing
Physician & Professional Wellness

Genomind’s Genecept Assay is a simple cheek swab test that provides genetic information on how your body may process medications. This can reduce trial-and-error, guide medication selection, and help personalize your treatment.
